Mat Notes...

At the UE Duals, held annually at Union-Endicott, four NYS champions were in the competition; the aforementioned Glover, Monroe-Woodbury's Jamie Franco (125) and Wantagh teammates, Paul Liguori (135) and John Greisheimer (152), all are seniors. In the Spencerport-Wantagh-8 dual, two-time winner Paul Liguori was bumped up two weight classes and dropped a close 1-0 decision to Paul Morabito in the 145-pound bout. The difference in the match was a second period escape by Morabito. In the Brentwood-11 vs Chenango Forks-4 match, former state runner-up Casey LaNave (CForks) edged Brentwood's Alex Gomez, 7-5, in the 125-pound class. In the third place match, Fairport-5 defeated Waverly-4, 38-25.
