    Brentwood leads the Section XI Tournament over Hauppauge with 133.5 points to Hauppauge's 125.5. The Indians advanced four into the finals, including undefeated Ricardo Gomez (31-0) at 119. The Eagles pushed two into the championships and are led by defending county champ and state runnerup Stephen Dutton (29-0) at 130. Huntington with 87 points is in third place and has three wrestlers in the finals, including Francisco Pereira (39-1) at 119 pounds. John Glenn is in fourth place and paced by four-time Division II champ Mike Castellano (36-1, 25 pins) at 135. The top seed in that weight class Andy Rodriguez (37-1) of Central Islip defeated Anthony Volpe (RP), with a 5-1 verdict. Reigning state champion Steven Keith (32-1) of SWRiver advanced in the loaded 112-pound class, with an exciting 7-6 decision over returning Suffolk champion, Brandon Escobar (RP), as he fought off a headlock attempt in the waning seconds of the bout. He will face 2006 county winner Jake Benedetto (38-2) of Islip in the finals, Benedetto edged Brentwood freshman Alex Gomez, 4-3. Walt Whitman has the Troy brothers in the championship bouts, with Adam (43-4) at 125, and Rob (40-2) in the 140-pound class. Rounding out the team scores are Huntington (87), John Glenn (86),  Longwood (71) and West Islip with 67 points. The Grand Parade of county winners and the Championship Finals are slated to start at 6:00 PM.
Hauppauge's Ken Collado upends the top seed, Jose Vasquez of Huntington. Collado won this 103 pound semifinal 5-3 as Hauppauge sits in second place while Huntington is third.
Four-time Division II champ Mike Castellano of John Glenn holds down John Lamonica of Islip in the 135 pound Division I semifinals. Castellano won this bout 8-6 and John Glenn is currently in fourth place.
