    Huntington (6-1) defeated Sayville (10-2), 35-23, in a League V dual meet showdown among the top teams in Suffolk County  before 450 boisterous fans at Sayville HS. The Blue Devils won nine of the thirteen bouts and were led by reigning Suffolk champion and state runner-up Jack Sullivan(12-2) who secured a fall at the 5:52 mark over TJ Nieves(19-2) in the 189-pound bout. The dual started at 112 pounds where Huntington's Francisco Pereira (16-5) decisioned Dylan Jung, 12-0, and was followed by a solid performance from sophomore Justin Giani(21-4) who used his offside fireman carry takedowns for  5-1 verdict over AJ Maier(18-5) at 119 pounds to give his squad a 7-0 team lead. The Golden Flashes answered as Mike Haas used his tight spiral ride for a first period  fall at 125 pounds to put the host team on the scoreboard and bring the meet score to 7-6. The next six  bouts went back and forth as Huntington's Jon Dolan(20-5) used a Peterson cradle to pinned Sayville's Joe Zimbardo(15-6) in a pivotal bout at 130, but Sayville's unbeaten Andrew Lomanno(20-0) dominated Sean Santiago with a barrage of takedowns for a 20-4 tech fall in his 135-pound bout and teammate Dave Bachy(14-5) used a tight cross-face cradle to register a fall in 1:07 at 140 and put his team ahead 17-13. The Blue Devils won five of the remaining six bouts and had key performances turned in by Ira Gooden at 145, Henry Hendrickson(16-3) at 152 and county runner-up Charlie Paar(21-1) at 171 pounds. Paar defeated Harry Grimm(16-5), 5-2, in a hotly contested bout, followed by the aforementioned Jack Sullivan and potential county finalist Kelcy Perry(23-2) who had a 5-1 decision over Zack Gallo(15-6) at 215 pounds. In the final match of the dual, Huntington's Brian Lifson(21-3) and Sayville's Corey Sullivan(19-5) were embroiled in a wild bout and Lifson emerged with a 17-8 major decision at 103 pounds.
