| NASSAU COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS East Meadow won the team title at the Nassau County Championships with 183 points over runner-up Plainedge which finished with 143. The Jets crowned one champion Tom Rispoli (36-3) at 135 pounds. Defending state champions that successfully defended their titles were Paul Liguori of Wantagh (43-0) at 112 and Eduardo Delgado of Long Beach (36-0) at 152. Other defending county champions, Shane Strumwasser (25-1) of Massapequa at 125, P.J. Gillespie (37-0, 210-29 career mark) of Long Beach at 145 and Maciej Jochym (40-0) of Herricks at 215, won Nassau titles again. Gillespie won his fourth title and was voted the Outstanding Wrestler in the tournament. In Division II, Mike Gomez (39-0) of Locust Valley at 112, also won his fourth consecutive title and Grant Greene (96 lbs.) of Cold Spring Harbor was voted as Outstanding Wrestler.
