| At the Nassau County Wrestling Championships, MacArthur won their fourth consecutive title as they tallied 171.5 points and crowned two champions. Winning titles for the Generals were Steve DeLorenzo (112) and former champion junior Bruce Popko (132 career wins) at 119 pounds. DeLorenzo shared the OSW Award with East Meadow's Spencer Cook (135) and was voted the Champion of Champions. Coach Howie Greenblatt, now in his 18th season, also had five other county placewinners, including bronze medallists, Ed Loscalzo (145) and Brian Scher (160). Rounding out the team scoring was runner-up Long Beach (153), East Meadow (143.5), Massapequa (136.5) and Plainedge with 102.5 points. The Long Beach Marines were led by returning champion and NYS placewinner, Jose Rodriquez (145), along with P.J. Gillespie (96) and Tom Moriarty at 140 pounds. The East Meadow Jets had two winners, the aforementioned Cook and defending champion Matt DeLuca (31-1) at 171 pounds. Former champ Al Tropiano (30-2) finished third at 112 pounds. The Chiefs' Ron Lanzillotta (30-2) found redemption as he captured the 189-pound title. Lanzillotta was a runner-up last season, as he fell to teammate Mike LaBella, who went on to win the state crown. Two other runners-up claimed championships, Nakyle Bethay (152) of Farmingdale and unbeaten Tom Daddino (29-0) of Sewanhaka District at 215 pounds. Daddino dropped a close decision in the finals at the 2003 county meet to eventual state champion Gian Villante of MacArthur. In the Division II Championships Seaford won the inaugural small schools title with three champions and 219.5 points. They outdistanced runner-up Valley Stream North (127), North Shore (117.5), Locust Valley (117) and Wheatley with 107 points. Three former all-county mat men claimed crowns, Seaford's Michael Moor (119),Locust Valley's Kyle Simensky (125) and North Shore's Eddie Murray at 135 pounds. Earning the outstanding wrestler award was Dan Carelton (130) of Northe Shore and the Champion of Champions was Wheatley's Joel Gullo at 112.
