| Mat Notes... Three defending state champions advanced to the championship finals: Kyle Kelly (35-0) at 99, James Kloc (41-1) at 145 and Brian Realbuto (46-1) at 152 pounds. Kelly applied a tight overhead cradle for his fall, Kloc edged Evan Wallace (49-1), 3-2, and two-time champion Realbuto used a cross-face cradle for a second period pin. In the marquee match of the semifinals, Jamel Hudson (36-1) handed previously unbeaten junior Nick Kelley (43-1) his first loss on the season. Hudson scored with a quick snap/spin takedown to take a 5-4 lead midway through the match. In the third period Kelley escaped and knotted the score 5-5, Hudson then hit a double leg takedown and emerged with a hard-fought and exiciting 8-6 victory in the 132-pound bout.
