Mat Notes...
Many wrestling experts feel that defending team champion Section Eleven (Suffolk County) is the sectional team to beat, and will capture multiple state titles. Other top sections appear to be Section Eight (Nassau), Section Five (Rochester), Section Six (Buffalo), Section Four (Binghamton), Section Two (Albany), Section Nine (Catskills), Section One (Westchester) and the improved CHSAA team. Suffolk County has 24 state entries and Nassau has 22 qualifiers. Defending individual team champion Wantagh HS-8, totaled 78 points at the 2009 state meet, and again the Warriors have four solid grapplers in the tournament. Other top teams should be Rocky Point HS-11, Wayne HS-5, Chenango Forks HS-4 and St. Anthony's-C. In Div.II, the top team is Palmyra-Macedon with six state meet entries...
Best of Luck to all the Competitors...
