| Cleveland-Top- ranked NJCAA Division III, Nassau Community College, won the National Wrestling Coaches Association Duals held at Cleveland State University. The Lions led by John Andriac, who is ranked number one at 285 pounds, defeated Division I power Iowa Central CC, 22-15, in the finals. In a key matchup, John Lantona upset 5th ranked Tucker Michels, 11-4, at 165 pounds and Andriac finished with a pin at heavyweight. Coach Paul Schmidt has three other wrestlers ranked in the polls to round out a very tough team; Pat Flynn (4th at 133 lbs.), Ricky Lynch (6th at 141 lbs.) and John Cummings (6th at 149 lbs.). NCC will host the Mid-Atlantic Championships coming up on Saturday, February 12th. |
