NASSAU WINS THE NJCAA TITLE

    Nassau Community College won the National Junior College Championships held in Rochester, Minnesota this past weekend. Coach Paul Schmidt crowned one champion in Central Islip's Carlos Patrick at 165 pounds.  The Lion's had six All-Americans to run away with the tournament scoring 107.5 points, more than 40 points ahead of second place Harper C.C.. The national placewinners included: Tyshawn Scarlet (3rd at 133), Chris DeLuca (3rd at 141), Shawn Swift (5th at 174), Chris Weidman (3rd at 197) and Greg Thomas (6th at 285). Patrick had decisioned John Zamora of North Idaho 7-5 to win the championship.
