    Massapequa HS won the 46th annual MHS Holiday Tournament with two champions and tallied 222 points to dethrone defending team champion Hauppauge who finished with 184.5 points. The Chiefs were paced by all-county matmen Nick Chicoine (135) and Conor Wetzel (189). Wetzel used a tight overhead cradle for a :13 second fall in the semi-finals and recorded a :36 pin in the finals. Finishing as runner-up was Chris Sarro, who dropped a close 4-2 verdict to All-State performer Dylan Palacio (Long Beach) in the 145-pound class. Sarro had defeated highly-regarded Sean O'Malley (Sachem East). 9-4, with a third period reversal and near fall in the semi-finals.

  In  another semi-final bout, reigning state champion Mark West (Hauppauge) was edged by county placer Sean McCabe (Connetquot), 3-1, in the 112-pound class. McCabe defeated Suffolk finalist Conor O'Hara (Sachem East), 4-0, in the final, and was voted the tournament's outstanding wrestler award. Hauppauge's county bronze medalist and NHSCA All-American unbeaten Chanse Menendez (11-0) needed overtime to edge Connetqout's John Zullo, 4-1, to claim the 171-pound crown.

Both Hauppauge and Long Beach garnered four individual titles. Winning for the Eagles were the aforementioned Menendez and All-County Nick Mauriello (130), Adam Lepkowsky (145) and Anthony Martello at 215. The Marines' champions were Palacio, Steven Sewkumar (96), All-State performer Mark Raghunandan (103) and Adam Dejuses at 152 pounds...
