Upstate power, Minisink Valley, won the Massapequa Christmas Tournament edging Massapequa 239.5 to 222.5. The Chiefs  made a good showing hosting their 41st annual Christmas Tournament by crowning four champions in front of an alumni crowd. Coach Gary Mims invited past Massapequa School District wrestlers and coaches with over 40 attending. The alumnus spanned five decades of wrestling tradition and support.
Sean Taft (145) and Marcus Gurdineer (275) were the champions for Minisink Vallley, but it was Massapequa that came away with four titlists. Top seeded Shane Strumwasser cruised to the 103- pound championship, Zach Spero picked up a fall in the finals at 130, Kevin Driscoll won a tight final match 6-5 and Adam Gottlieb took the 140- pound crown.
