  Islip
, the defending League V and Suffolk County champions crowned seven champions, tallied 303.5 points  and rolled to the League V Tournament title held at Sayville HS. The Bucs were led by reigning state champion, Ryan Patrovich (33-0, 197, 12 career) at 160 pounds, defending county champion,Tyler Mashkow (101-14 career) at 112, Paul Vaeth (31-1, 116-17) at 140 and junior Lance Wade (27-1), who recorded three first period pins (32 seconds, :39 and :28) at 152  and all-county Christian Wintons (17-3) at 275 pounds. Sayville edged Rocky Point for a runner-up team finish, 213 points to 203. In the 171-pound final, Sayville's Harry Grimm (26-7) upended top-seeded Larry LoRusso (26-3), 10-2. The Golden Flashes of Sayville had three other titlists, including, AJ Maier (29-6) who defeated highly-touted Justin Giani (27-4) of Huntington, 6-2, at 125 pounds, along with Mike Haas (27-8) at 135 and Zach Gallo (24-5) at 215. Rocky Point had three winners, including Brendon Escobar (21-1) at 96, Anthony Volpe (28-3) at 103 and top-seeded, Jeff Piccolo (30-1), who posted two first period falls, one in ten seconds and another in eighteen seconds, en route to the 145-pound title. King's Parks' Rich Benanti (27-6) won the 189-pound crown...

Islip's Tyler Mashkow works to hold down Sayville's Andy Rodriguez. Mashkow won this 112- pound League V final 9-2 and Islip took home the team honors, Sayville finished in second place.
