| The Sayville Middle School Wrestling Team had a fine showing at the annual Bill Hutchinson Winter Classic Tournament held at Bayport HS. The team was paced by outstanding lightweights, Brendan Cunningham (76), John Farese (82) and Andrew Weisenberger (88). Other top grapplers were Justin Bonamico (98),Tyler Hoek (104), Dylan Mantello (105), Dan Nordland (108), Jon Rolland (110), Joe Tamberello (112), Dan O'Connell (118) , Peter Morfogen (120), Andrew Clarke (124) and Jason Butler at 130 pounds. The Golden Flashes also had some of the best upperweights in the tournament, and were led by Anthony Cavaliere (148), Matt Pesko (149). Justin Frankowicz (150), Joe Cook (151), James Doller (152), along with Al Rios (166), Jesse Papa (184) and tough Joe Deluca at 196 pounds. Wrestling managers, 6th graders, Nicky Pesko (80) and Billy Lutcher (90) also participated in the tournament. The Sayville matmen had a solid season and were coached by veteran, Mr.Anzalone and able assistant, Mr. Kroll. |
