| Hofstra defeated Harvard, 25-12, before 1,045 fans at the David S. Mack Sports Complex. The Pride won seven of the ten bouts contested and were led by returning All American Charles Griffin. Griffin (11-2) who finished third at the 2007 NCAAs scored with his strong double leg takedowns and posted a major decision (10-2) at 141 pounds. The dual started at 125 where senior Dave Tomasette (10-3) struck with his quick takedowns and tilts and recorded a 13-1 major decision. Sophomore Lou Ruggirello (13-2) used three lightning quick ankle/low single leg takedowns, along with a barrage of tilts and secured a third period tech fall, 17-2, at 133 pounds. Harvard sophomore JP O'Connor (10-1), a returning All-American defeated Mitch Smith, 4-2, to bring the team score to 13-3. O'Connor is currently ranked third in the nation at 149 pounds.The Pride responded with three consecutive victories; Jonny Bonilla-Bowman, 12-7, at 157, Ryan Patrovich (7-5) used two single leg/trip finishes for his takedowns and posted a solid 6-0 decision at 165. Junior Alton Lucas (6-0) scored with a quick high crotch taketown to defeat Harvard sophomore Frankie Colletta, 7-3, in a hard fought bout at 174 pounds and gave the Pride an insurmountable 22-3 lead with three bouts remaining in the dual. Hofstra's James Guerin, a junior, won his first match of the season with an exciting 6-4 double overtime decision at 285 pounds.

Hofstra evened their season record to 3-3 and is currently ranked 14th in the nation. Senior Charles Griffin (11-2) won his 100 career victory and now boasts a 100- 22 career mark, he is currently ranked fourth in the nation at 141 pounds. Other ranked Pride matmen include Dave Tomasette (9th at 125), Lou Ruggirello (2nd at 133), undefeated Alton Lucas (8th at 174) and senior Joe Rovelli (7th at 197). The dual meet between Hofstra and Harvard featured four former NYS champions, Ruggirello, O'Connor (4 titles), Patrovich and Lucas. Also in attendance were the Jantzen brothers, Corey (6-2), a freshman at 141 and Jesse, an assistant coach at Harvard. Both brothers were also NYS champions, Corey (2 titles) didn't compete due to a sprained ankle and Jesse (4 titles) is trainind for the 2008 US Olympic Trials. Next up for Hofstra is the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, NC, on December 29th-30th, 2007.
