Hauppauge HS (4-0) won the 9th annual Hauppauge Duals in convincing fashion, as they defeated Centereach (70-6), Shoreham-Wading River (61-12), Seaford (67-6), and William Floyd (58-10). The Eagles were led by defending state champion junior Ken Collado (14-0) at 112, Nick Mauriello (96), Anthony Piscitello (135), Jesse Marro (140), Kevin Panebianco (145), Eric Wooley (215) and Scott Munro at 285 pounds. In other duals, Seaford defeated Centereach, 51-26, William Floyd won three matches; Ossining (54-28), SWRiver (41-30) and Seaford (50-16). Other results are, Ossining edged SWRiver, 46-42, Centereach defeated Ossining, 45-35, SWRiver defeated Centereach, 65-10, and Seaford nipped Ossining, 42-39. Seaford was lead by their trio of outstanding lightweights, sophomore Will Montgomery (13-2) at 103, Anthony Locast (11-4) at 112 and senior Anthony Facchini (14-4) at 119, along with junior Kevin Goldstein at 152 pounds. Shoreham-Wading River has 2007 state champion Steven Keith (14-0) at 119, T.J Fabian (96), Sam Shepard (152) and senior Jack Miller at 160. William Floyd was led Jon Penna (103), Tom Gale (119), Keith Nicholson (135), along with the middlewight tandem of Mike Hartman (140) and Jon Goulding (145), along with Marcus Muelthaler at 189 pounds.
Mat Notes... Special thanks to Tournament Director Ramona Bisono for coordinating all the results for the media. Hauppauge coach Chris Messina now has 295 dual meet victories. Seaford coach Sal LoStrappo is now in his 16th year as head coach and could have three Nassau finalists with the aforementioned, Montgomery, Locast and Facchini. Two of the five Long Island New York State champions competed at the duals; Collado and Keith.
