| 2012 CHSAA CHAMPIONSHIPS St. Anthony's won their third consecutive CHSAA team title and amassed 271 points to easily outdistance runner-up Monsignor Farrell who finished with 247. The Friars crowned six champions, including returning state place-winners Freddy Dunau (22-2) at 106 and Jamel Hudson (33-1) at 132 pounds. Dunau posted a major decision in the finals and Hudson breezed through the bracket, as he recorded three falls and earned both the OSW and Most Pins Awards. Other Friar winners were John Twomey (99), Matt Szilagyi (24-5) at 152, John Vrasidas (160) and two-time CHSAA titlist Andrew Auriemma (21-2) at 285 pounds. Kellenberg senior and returning state placer Pat Skinner (38-2) claimed his third state title and is a solid contender at 113 pounds. Also claiming a title for the Firebirds was Matt Matouzzi (33-7) in the 145-pound class. Mat Notes... St. Anthony's John Twomey will not participate at the state meet, and teammate/alternate William Gutenkunst will replace him at 99 pounds. Both Freddy Dunau and Andrew Auriemma won their second CHSAA titles and Jamel Hudson earned his third straight CHSAA crown. All are state ranked, Dunau and Auriemma are both rated 5th and Hudson is ranked #2 in their respective weight classses. Pat Skinner (137-27 career) became the winningest wrestler in Kellenberg history and eclipsed the previous mark set by Steve Contino (117 wins) in 2007. Skinner is currently ranked #7 and will seek redemption at the 2012 championships. Chaminade coach George Dlugolonski, now in his 39th season, reached a milestone with his 500th dual meet victory during the season.
