      Brentwood (21-3) defeated Sachem North (19-5) in a premier dual meet among League I powers. Brentwood was led by two Century Club wrestlers;
Eric Orellana (30-1, 108-20 career) at 113 and unbeaten Alexis Blanco (31-0, 106-25) in the 138-pound class. Orellana countered a single leg takedown attempt and spladed his opponent for a :13 second fall and Blanco used a barrage of duck unders and double leg takedowns en route to a 16-5 major decision in his 138-pound bout.

      The meet started at 152 pounds and Sachem North's Steve Guardino scored with a key second period tilt and held on for a 3-0 victory. The Flaming Arrows would win five of the next six bouts contested including an exciting 9-7 verdict by Anthony Marino at 170 pounds. Sachem's county placer Gio Santiago used a hip toss for a 7-1 verdict at 182 and league finalist Anthony Confessore (27-3, 92-28) scored with a single leg takedown and added a snap/spin and coasted to a 5-0 shutout win in the 195-pound class. At 220 pounds, Steven Mills clamped his opponent and gave the host team a comfortable 18-3 lead.

     Brentwood would win three of the next four bouts to close the team score to 24-18. Sachem North junior Alec Ross had a decisive third period double leg takedown to edge BJ Jackson and increase the lead to 27-18. The Indians  captured four consecutive bouts including a hard-fought victory by Marc Gonzales over three-time league placer Frank Napoli (21-5) at 126. Gonzalez used a bump and snap/spin late in the third period for a 6-3 win. Brentwood's Diego Ramirez applied a tight cross/face cradle and registered a second period pin and knotted the team score at 27-27.

     The aforementioned Blanco responded with a key win and gave Brentwood a 31-27 lead, and set the stage for the final bout of the dual, which pitted Sachem's Mike Falcon against Brentwood's Josue Escobar at 145. Escobar opened the scoring with a single leg takedown and Falcon rallied with an escape and snap/spin to close the gap to 4-3. In the final stanza, Falcon missed with two headlock attempts and Escobar spun behind and emerged with a 7-4 win and gave the Indians a 34-27 victory.
