2012-13 PRE-SEASON HS RANKINGS
Nick Piccininni, defending 106 pound NYS Champion from Ward Melville.
   A total of eight high school wrestlers from New York State made the Amateur Wrestling News' pre-season rankings, three are from Suffolk County. Sophomore Nick Piccininni (45-0) from Ward Melville won the state title at 106 pounds last year and is ranked 20th in the nation at 113 this year. Other Section 11 wrestlers include seniors, Tyler Grimaldi (49-2)of Hills West who comes in at the 16th spot at 160 and Huntington's Nick Lupi who is ranked 18th at 220 pound class. Grimaldi was runnerup in the state tournament and Lupi had finished 5th.
    
Nick Kelley a senior from Shenendehowa (Section 2), third in the states, is the highest ranked New Yorker in the 5th slot at 132 pounds. Rounding out the rest of the New York field are: Zack Zupan (Sr.-Canastota-3) he won the NYS Division II crown last year at 170 pounds and is ranked 14th; Nick Tighe (Sr.-Phoenix-3) last year's NYS Division II Champion at 126 pounds is ranked 16th in the 132 pound class; Burke Paddock (Warsaw-5) 3rd in the states, is only a junior and ranked 17th at 160 and Renaldo Rodriquez (Jr.-Cheektowaga-6) NYS Division II runnerup is ranked 20th at 132 pounds.
